My name is Tawni Martin and I've been a full-time, self-employed Web Designer for 6 years, and have been involved in designing websites since 2000. I am from the Northern Virginia/Washington, DC metro area, but now live in Orlando, FL, where I've been freelancing since 2003.
100% of my business has been through referral and repeat clients. I feel my success is attributable to my professionalism, unique design style, attention to detail and a philosophy of striving for excellence and exceeding expectation.
I enjoy working as an outsourced vendor for advertising agencies/interactive marketing departments as well as directly with businesses needing a website. I believe my greatest strength is a unique expertise in both design and development, which enables me to take a design from concept to launch. I can synthesize feedback from many different points of view and translate non-visual concepts into creative designs, often illustrating the best a company has to offer.
Additionally, what sets me apart from other designers is my experience working with hospitality and real estate businesses. Being a boutique business, I can be nimble and efficient, which allows me to keep costs and overhead low, without sacrificing the quality of my work, which is always custom, never templatized.
I began my career in web design and development working for a dot-com start-up in Bethesda, MD. After the dot-com bubble crash in 2000, I worked as Director of Website Design/Development for E-Site Marketing in Bethesda, a company focused on internet marketing and web design for the hospitality industry. There, I designed, developed and maintained many websites, as well as managed other designers and developers. I was also very involved in project management and client presentations.

Each business is different, has specific goals and a unique identity. I feel I have a talent for creating designs that reflect the best of what a business offers the world. It helps enormously to learn as much as I can about your business and the goals you want to achieve with your website. To this aim, I use a detailed Discovery Questionnaire to gather this information during the initial process stages of a typical web design project.
Good design serves both an aesthetic and functional purpose. But beauty sells, even more so now than ever. When done right, aesthetics can make the difference between good and great, create a memorable experience, tell a story, facilitate a sense of loyalty and generate buzz. These are things I find very exciting these days, and strive to bring to each website I design.
Though each project is different, below is a general outline of the process involved in a typical web design project.
